New BOE Members List Their Priorities
In the May 18 Roslyn School Board race, Cliff Saffron came within a votes of winning a seat. This time, he prevailed, coming in second with 967 votes. Dani Kline, the top vote getter in the Oct. 5 special election, led all candidates with 1,107 votes.

JCC Athletes in Maccabi Games
For an entire week this summer, 57 young athletes of the Sid Jacobson JCC got a chance to compete with young Jewish athletes from North America and five other countries in the 2004 Maccabi Games. Participants shared in the fun of competing, the joy of meeting their peers and the pride of being part of a world-famous Olympic-style event filled with Jewish content and values. It is a life-and personality-shaping experience that the JCC Maccabi Games have been offering to Jewish teenagers since 1982. At this Jewish mini-Olympiad, each athlete has the chance to participate in one of 13 sporting events.

Mayor's Trophy Game a Success
One of the premiere sports events in East Hills, the Mayor's Trophy Game, was played on Sunday morning, Sept. 26, at Harbor Hill School. Mayor Koblenz threw out the opening pitch as the co-chairs, Peter Wagner and Stu Faden, looked on. The third annual game pitted Steve Halperin's team against Jeff Gass' team in what was agreed to be one of most competitive and best attended tournaments to date.
