Dr. Lawrence S. Kryle, MD, a physician who practiced in the Roslyn area for 53 years, died on Feb. 1, 2004 at the age of 83, after a long illness.
Dr. Kryle was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Dartmouth College and received his medical degree from NYU. He was active in many local community activities, including being a founding member and past president of the Lillian Pierce Senior Center of Roslyn. He also served as past president of the Roslyn Kiwanis Club. He held the position of Medical Officer of the Albertson Fire Dept. for over 35 years.
Dr. Kryle was vice president of the NC Medical Society, serving on its various committees. He was active in Masonic affairs, having served as Master of Evergreen Lodge F&AM 1139 in Roslyn.
Dr. Kryle is survived by his wife, Myra; his sister, Flora Hattenbach; and his children, Lorraine Kryle and Sanford Kryle. Funeral services were held Feb. 4 at Temple Sinai in Roslyn Heights.
Blanche Trietsch, 93, of Albertson, formerly of New Hyde Park, died on Jan 31, 2004. Wife of the late Fred. Mother of Fred. Sister of Genevieve Guilfoyle. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Roslyn Heights Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at St. Aidan's RC Church. Interment Nassau Knolls Cemetery.
Sidney Schwartz, 84, formerly of Roslyn, died recently. Husband of Frances. Father of Jayson (Beth) and Sam (Mindy). Grandfather of Jonathan, Adam, Jaclyn and Mikey.
