It was good to read that the Community Garden at East Hills conceived and created to feed the hungry poor was continued this year and again was successful.
In the picture of garden volunteers, (The Roslyn News, Oct. 2) second from the left, is Natalie "Bobbie" Isaacs who worked quietly and diligently in the garden last year. She helped plant, water, weed, harvest, and deliver directly to the Mary Brennan Inn Soup Kitchen in Hempstead over 850 lbs. of organic vegetables over the course of the summer and fall seasons.
This year, as well, she worked in the garden doing what needed to be done to get fresh food to the poor. Bobbie also volunteers for "Island Harvest," picking up and delivering food to group homes.
When someone cheerfully does good deeds without looking for recognition or honors she is an unsung hero. Bobbie Isaacs is such a person and so unassuming she might even be embarrassed by my mentioning her. However, let it be known that Ms. Bobbie Isaacs of Fairfield Park is a special person deserving of credit for her good works. She is a true unsung hero.
