Anthony Schettino, technology teacher at the Green Vale School in Old Brookville, was just named Rookie Coach of the Year for Section VIII H.S. Wrestling. He's coached at the Schreiber High School in Port Washington for the last 12 years and has been head coach for the past two years. His team went 18-4 this season and for the second year in a row, was named Nassau County Conference Champs. Anthony coached 11 All-Conference wrestlers and his team won the New York State Scholar Athlete Team Award.

Schettino, as a student at Schreiber, earned All Conference, County and State honors in freestyle wrestling and went on to receive All Regional Honors at Southern Conn. State University. In addition to teaching and coaching, he is also the volunteer director and head coach of the Port Youth Activities (PYA) Wrestling Program where he started wrestling as a youngster. Schettino was inducted into the Port Washington Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.
