The Roslyn Booster Basketball Board is very pleased to report that the 2002-2003 season ending "booster hoopster moving up" programs for the inaugural RBBC Boys and Girls second grade programs and for the second year RBBC Boys and Girls third grade programs held Sunday, March 23, were an "unqualified" success. Players and parents reconfirmed that the RBBC Board's mandate that "booster hoops" be made up of equal parts "fun and competition" is a winning recipe for the children of the Roslyn and East Williston School districts who participated in the RBBC program.

The RBBC Board, the junior division league commissioners and session/team coaches used their collective creativity to put together "action packed" programs for each team/session within the second and third grade leagues/programs. Each of these programs were attended by packed gymnasiums packed with camera toting parents, grandparents and good old-fashioned Roslyn basketball "aficionados."

These exciting programs reinforced the most important reason for player participation in the RBBC program - fun. "Booster hoopster" players showcased/demonstrated their dramatically improved basketball skills, participated in a battery of "fun drills" for prizes, and finally, participated in inter-squad scrimmages for the benefit of a very excited and appreciative parent, family and spectator filled gym. Session/team coaches awarded a "Most Improved Player" and a "Best Sportspersonship" certificate to two deserving players within each program session, which was followed by a round of applause for these deserving players. Each program concluded with each player being called up in front of their teammates to receive a "participation award" certificate, and a "bobble head" trophy (to stand as a constant reminder to all "booster hoopsters" of the "fun" side of RBBC basketball participation) .

Players and their parents were all smiles as they left the gyms confirming the success of this year's RBBC junior division programming (with many a player echoing those famous last words.... "I can't wait till next year's RBBC booster hoops program to begin").
