This cold, snowy winter is finally over and what better way to kick off the spring than a great family day at Hilltop's Third Annual 5K Run/Walk? The race is being held on Sunday, April 6 beginning and ending at Roslyn High School.

Registration and check-in begin at 8 a.m. and the race starting time is 9:45 a.m. Race day registration is $15 for students and Roslyn Gold Card members and $20 for adults. There is a $3 discount for each participant registered by March 31. Race registration includes an exclusive race day T-shirt.

There are awards for age/gender categories starting at 10 and under, as well as awards for overall male and female finishers. The Kid's Fun Run, sponsored by Astoria Federal Savings, will begin at 9 a.m. and is free of charge. Every child in the Fun Run will receive a ribbon and snack. Kids' T-shirts can be purchased for $10.

The day's festivities also include live music by The People and free refreshments provided by Bagel Boss, Joanne's Gourmet Pizza and Whole Foods Market. North Shore Optics, Marla Leader Camp Advisor, Croce and Sparacio Physical Therapists, Pour Moi and Astoria Federal Savings will host concession tables.

Race participants will receive goody bags provided by Athlete's Foot, Pierce Country Day Camp, Slimfast and other race sponsors. There will also be additional giveaways and raffles at the event.

This exciting community event would not be possible without the added support of Americana Manhasset, Musiker Tours, Daniel Gale Realtors, Robbie Wagner Tournament Training, Diane's Bakery, Lester's Clothing and Shoes, Stewart Grauer, DDS, and MRL Insurance.

The Hilltop Foundation is a nonprofit, independent funding resource for educational programs throughout the Roslyn School District.
