In recognition of their dedication and contributions, five outstanding residents in East Hills were recently awarded the village's highest honor by Mayor Michael P. Koblenz.

These individuals included former deputy mayors, trustees and even the present village justice. Each of the honorees were given keys to the village. The only current member of the administration to receive a key for lifetime achievement was Village Justice Arthur Goldberg. Justice Goldberg has served East Hills as its magistrate for 34 years.

Other former officials included former Deputy Mayor Jack Russo, now chair and commissioner of the Roslyn Water District, who served as a trustee for 24 years, former Deputy Mayor Larry Krasnoff, who served as a trustee for 16 years and Robert Feinsod who was deputy mayor and trustee for 10 years.

Another prominent member of the community was Marguerite Galano who served as the chair of the village's hospitality committee and was past president of the Fairfield Park Civic Association.

"These individuals are examples of the finest, most reputable and distinguished members of our village," said Mayor Koblenz, "and we are fortunate that each of the honorees devoted their energies and talents to our community. East Hills was immensely better for their manifold contributions,"

At the next regularly scheduled meeting of the board of trustees, former Mayor Larry Aaronson, Commissioner Anne Croce and former Trustee Fred November will also be recognized when they are presented the Lifetime Achievement Awards.
