The North Shore School District recently installed energy saving technology in all five central school district buildings as an effort to cut costs and save on energy consumption for the community and Nassau County.
North Shore Middle and Senior High, Sea Cliff, Glen Head and Glenwood Landing schools plan to reduce fuel and electric consumption by 10 to 30 percent using IntelliCon energy-saving technology on their existing air conditioning and heating systems. The technology will also help realize a reduction of between seven and 10 percent of the district's electric bill, stabilize building temperatures and help prevent overheating.
Richard Kavanaugh, director of facilities and operations for the North Shore School District, states: "We expect to see $30,000 in cost savings for the winter season alone. This extra money will be recycled back into the schools fund balance and reused for other school needs. We won't have to ask the community for a budget increase. Additionally, the IntelliCon technology is automated, which saves us a lot of production time in terms of re-calibration."
"All businesses are under pressure to reduce energy consumption and make a commitment to cost-saving energy management initiatives," says Dan Tarulli, Intellidyne CEO. "Even buildings that appear to have good energy practices in place need to evaluate possible areas for improvement to identify real opportunities for savings in all areas of energy consumption."
Because energy savings accrue immediately, IntelliCon has received high ratings from school districts, municipalities, shopping centers and other commercial enterprises, several of which expect to receive rebates from their local power authorities for installing the energy conservation technology. The New York City Transit Authority and Key Foods Supermarkets are among the organizations currently utilizing IntelliCon technology. Intellidyne has established a network of distributors and dealers throughout the US and Canada to answer both commercial and residential demand for the easily installed units.
Intellidyne LLC, established in 1996 and based in Glen Cove, manufactures and markets dynamic, leading-edge energy-saving products for Heating, Air Conditioning and Commercial Refrigeration systems. Intellidyne products have been tested and installed in multiple office buildings, hospitals, schools, retail centers and places of worship throughout the country.
Intellidyne products are UL listed as energy management equipment, and independent testing facilities including Brookhaven National Laboratories and ETL/Inchcape, and major utility companies, such as Con Edison and Keyspan, have validated the performance of IntelliCon.
