At its Thursday, Jan. 2 meeting, the Town of North Hempstead council will vote on several issues pertaining to the Roslyn area.
The first concerns a request by Roslyn Rescue to enter into a lease/purchase agreement with the town for the acquisition of a new 75-foot combination ladder pumper truck. The amount of the purchase is approximately $596,505.
Other issues have to do with parking and traffic in Roslyn Heights and Albertson.
The Roslyn Heights parking ordinance would establish additional parking spaces on the north side of Warner Avenue, west of the Sunharbor nursing home driveway.
On Jan. 2, the town will also vote on the adoption of an ordinance that would establish full stops at several intersections in Albertson: Lynton Road and Albertson Avenue, northbound, at IU Willets Road; Coventry Avenue, Meldon Avenue, Hampton Avenue and Ashford Place, westbound, at Willis Avenue; Albertson Avenue, southbound, at Dorset Avenue; Dorset Avenue, eastbound, at Albertson Avenue.
Two other ordinances would establish full stops at other Albertson intersections, including those at Woodhollow Road, Hillvale Road and Lea Place, eastbound, at Oak Ridge Lane; Lea Place, westbound, at Meadow Drive; Falmouth Place, northbound, at Hampton Avenue and southbound, at Dorset Avenue.
Public hearings on all the above issues were held throughout the fall and winter.
