The Roslyn Hilltop Educational Foundation's 2002-03 Neighborhood Discount Card is now available for purchase. Cardholders receive ongoing discounts at the following neighborhood businesses: The Annex Shoppe, The Athlete's Foot, Attilio's, BookMarx, Casey's Court, Diva Floral Decorators, Dunkin' Donuts, East Hills Pharmacy, Greenvale Bagels, Manor French Cleaners, Mim's Restaurant, North Shore Optics, Pet Pantry, The Picture Place, Pirandello, Please Mom II, Sotto Luna, Stage Cards, and Yogurt and Such. New participants for this year are Joanne's Gourmet Pizza, Nemo's and Great Neck Car Wash.

Cards are available for $20 each, and can be ordered by sending a check payable to the Hilltop Foundation, to: Roslyn Hilltop Educational Foundation, P.O. Box 95, Roslyn, NY 11576. Please include your name and address when placing your order.

The Hilltop Foundation is a non-profit, independent funding resource for educational programs throughout the Roslyn School District. Since it was founded in 1995, Hilltop has awarded grants annually for technological, cultural and academic programs at each of the Roslyn schools.

Members of the school community submit grant requests for funding of educational activities or equipment that can't be accommodated in the schools' regular budgets.

The Hilltop Board evaluates the detailed proposals based on accessibility to students, feasibility of implementing and maintaining the program, lasting impact or usefulness, and other potential funding options. The process includes review by the Superintendent's office and final approval from the Board of Education. To date, the foundation has donated over $100,000 for educational resources and outstanding programs.
