On Aug. 17, Sid Jacobson JCC Swim Coach Jim Parker participated in the "Sound to the Cove Swim" at Morgan Park in Glen Cove. Parker, who coaches the JCC's Swim Team, the Barracudas, took part in the one-mile swim. All proceeds benefited the 'Miracle Building' at Mercy Medical Center to house the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Nassau County and cancer research at the Swim Across America Laboratory at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. The Cancer Center will allow the people of Long Island to receive the most comprehensive and state-of-the-art cancer treatment within their community.
