The Foundation for the Advancement of Student Technology, "FAST" will be holding their 2nd annual Golf Classic at Engineers Country Club, Sept. 9.

FAST is an organization run by parents of the Roslyn School District. These parents are volunteering their time and efforts to benefit all the children in Roslyn. FAST is underwriting programs to expand and enhance our ever-growing need for computer technology in our Roslyn public schools at all levels from pre-K through High School.

FAST has recently donated money raised at last year's event to the Roslyn Public Schools for the purchase and installation of wireless networking equipment and lap top computers for each school in the district.

Previous events sponsored by FAST included a "Tech Night" which featured the "Tech Guru," Seree Sreenivasan from ABC's Eyewitness News, who gave an extremely educational and enlightening presentation on, Keeping Our Kids Safe Online, FAST also created "Roslynopoly" a monopoly like game featuring local merchants. These games were sold to the Roslyn community as well as in the schools.

This year's Golf Classic on Sept. 9 at Engineers Country Club, will feature a full day including: "Tee-Off" brunch, refreshments served throughout the day while on the course, contests, silent auctions, raffles and an awards dinner, that will truly cap off the days' events. Players of all handicaps and levels are welcome. Dinner only tickets are available.
