Later this month, the Sid Jacobson JCC will honor Lynda and George F. Marts, of Laurel Hollow for their outstanding support of community. On Monday, July 22, the Sid Jacobson JCC will host the EarlyBirdCapital Seventeenth Gold Classic to benefit the Sid Jacobson JCC. The event will take place at Glen Oaks Club in Old Westbury.

George is senior vice president and managing director of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies based in Uniondale. Chubb, headquartered in Warren, NJ, is a multi-line insurance company with 135 offices around the world. Over the past 25 years George has managed Chubb offices in Rochester, New York, Atlanta and Uniondale. He has also served as a senior commercial lines underwriter and regional marketing manager.

George has been a volunteer for the American Cancer Society in Atlanta, where he lived for 14 years. He has served as president and chairman of the Atlanta Chapter of the American Cancer Society and as a board member and vice president for fundraising for the State of Georgia. He has also been a member of the Georgia State Executive Committee. George is currently a member of the Casualty & Surety Society of New York and was past president of the Insurance Management Association. Lynda has chaired annual fund-raising events for Children's Hospice of the Visiting Nurse Healthsystem in Atlanta, which is one of the few organizations that provide in-home care to terminally ill children. She has served for three years on the board of Holiday House, an 87-year-old organization that provides a camp program in Huntington for underprivileged girls ages 7 to 11. Lynda has also served as a board member for the Huntington Arts Council for the past four years and is a former president and secretary of the Citizens Faculty Association at Cold Spring Harbor High School.

George is an avid golfer and is a member of the Creek Club. He also enjoys travel, reading, fly-fishing and bird hunting. Lynda enjoys playing golf, reading, skiing, gardening and doing volunteer work for a variety of organizations. Lynda and George have been married for 24 years and have two children, Katie and Joseph.
