Thousands Turn Out for Parade
Thousands of spectators lined the streets of Roslyn last Saturday to witness an impressive display by fire departments from all throughout Long Island as they marched to pay tribute to the Roslyn Rescue Fire Company.

Stop Signs for Pool Drive
Summer is now in full swing and that means more people, especially more children out in the village streets. And so, Roslyn residents are expressing their concerns over traffic volume and road visibility on certain village thoroughfares. At its May meeting, the Village of Roslyn board of trustees approved a motion to install stop signs at various locations on Pool Drive. The signs were scheduled to be put in place on Monday, June 17.

Golf Classic July 8
On Monday, July 8, North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center will host its Annual 2002 Golf Classic and Tribute Dinner in honor of Kathleen O'Brien, vice president of U.S. Trust and Teresa Regnante, executive vice president of the United Way of Long Island. This fund-raising event will be held at the Engineers Country Club in Roslyn Harbor and will feature both golf and tennis packages as well as an evening cocktail hour, buffet dinner, and a sports memorabilia auction. The gold package is $450; tennis package if $225, and cocktails and dinner only is $150.

Epstein Competes Jiu-Jitsu Championship
Ben Epstein of East Hills competed last weekend in the Copa Atlantica Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Bayonne, NJ. Ben, a fifth grader at the Harbor Hills School, received a third place medal in the 90-99.9 lb. Division. He was the first child to represent the Serra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in East Meadow in this prestigious tournament.
