The Hilltop Educational Foundation's second annual 5K Run/Walk held on April 28 was very well attended in spite of heavy rains that fell that day. The foundation is a nonprofit, independent funding resource for educational programs throughout the Roslyn School District. Financial support for the run was provided by several area businesses. Major sponsors included: Astoria Federal Savings; Americana Manhasset; Daniel Gale Real Estate; Musiker Tours; Roslyn Savings Foundation; Lester's; North Shore Optics; Stewart J. Grauer, DDS, MS; Ian Bourhill, MD, FACS; and Whole Foods who provided healthy snacks and water. Astoria Federal Savings sponsored the Children's Fun Run.
