Congratulations to 13-year-old Abby Moskowitz of Roslyn Heights who was the second woman overall to cross the finish line of the April 27 Vytra Human Race 5 Kilometer Run at Heckscher State Park. Abby completed the 3.1 mile course in 22 minutes, 13 seconds, a 7.09 per-mile pace that earned her first place honors in the 13-15 age group, six seconds in front of 15-year-old Lisa Bonnani.
The Vyra Human Race 5 Kilometer run is one of a full roster of community outreach programs fostered by the Vytra Health Plans to improve the quality of life on Long Island by promoting physical fitness and good health.
The Center for Developmental Disabilities which will reap the benefits of the Vytra Human Race 5K Run, is a private non-profit agency which provides a wide range of educational, residential and community-based service for individuals with Autism and/or pervasive developmental and communications disabilities. The Center is committed to its mission of helping children, adolescents and adults with differing abilities achieve their dreams by overcoming barriers to living, learning, working and enjoying recreational opportunities in the community of their choice.
