The North Shore men's track team competed in its first meet of the season on March 25 at Locust Valley High School against Locust Valley, Manhasset and East Rockaway. The conditions were not very good for running as it was cold and blustery, but the team did quite well anyway.

Jesse Sears and Garret Dafferner competed in the 400m high hurdles. Jesse Sears placed fourth with a time of 68.5 seconds.

In the 100m dash Peter Barbour broke into the top three against the Manhasset sprinters, which takes some speed. He placed second with a time of 12.1 seconds and Tyler Gillespie placed fifth with a time of 13.4 seconds. Alex Graham competed in the same event.

Steve Smirti, the only senior on the team, placed fourth in the 400m and was on the 4x400m relay team that placed second with a time of 4:16 minutes. The other members of the relay team were Jesse Sears, Theo Fleishman and Dan Kapuscinski.

Peter Barbour placed third with a time of 25.1 seconds in the 200m Dan Bloomfield ran 65.6 seconds for fifth place in the 400m and Dan Kapuscinski placed fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:26 minutes.

Andrew Greig won the 110 high hurdle event with a time of 16.5 seconds for North Shore's only champion in an event. John Sadowski and Garret Dafferner placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the same event. North Shore's 4x100m relay team (Dan Bloomfield, Steven Liu, Garret Dafferner and Peter Barbour) and the 4x800m relay team (David Rahimian, Dan Moadel, Matt Lopiccolo and Chris David) each earned second place.

In the field events, North Shore's Andrew Greig and Theo Fleishman placed third and fourth, respectively, in the triple jump. Andrew Greig also placed fourth in the high jump. North Shore's Liu Brothers, Steven and Jeff, placed fourth and fifth in the long jump.
