Roslyn Board Conducts Budget Review
The Roslyn Board of Education conducted a public review of the 2002-03 school budget at its meetings on March 14 and 21 and at a special budget meeting on March 25. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Frank A. Tassone began his presentation on March 14 with a description of some of the accomplishments of Roslyn students, which reflect the value of public education received by the school community in return for the strong support it provides.

Fire Captain Is Laid to Rest
For the second time in seven months, firefighters at Roslyn Rescue are mourning the loss of one of their own. On Good Friday, March 29, funeral services were held at St. Hyacinth's Church, Glen Head for Capt. Allen Frye, the Roslyn Rescue firefighter who died on Monday, March 25, while performing a routine training exercise on Glen Cove Road in Greenvale. Capt. Frye was 31.

Booster Basketball Champs
Thee "Perfect Season" ended today with another stunning victory. The undefeated Blue Devils went into the Fifth-Grade Boys Booster Basketball playoffs as the team to beat. Having finished 8-0 to win the regular season championship, the team held off three more tough opponents in the playoffs to extend their unbeaten streak to 11-0 and win the playoff title. Under the splendid coaching of Brad Saltzman and Mitch Cohen, the boys played their best and took the title in stunning fashion. Congratulations on an amazing season!
