I don't think certain criticism of Gail Grant's failure to become involved was justified in the Letter to the Editor published last week. Anyone at anytime, should be free to express their feelings, their beliefs, or their thinking no matter when. Being willing to listen is an important discipline. That's precisely what the present administration has succeeded in doing for East Hills. They put on slide shows, had scheduled a hearing for the village and were even conducting a vote to get the true sense of the community's wishes. I agree with Paul and Roseanne Frank that the cost of the park would have been well worth the price. I further agree that the value of our homes would have risen. We would have, as they artfully pointed out, "gained so much." They are right.

But I still believe that everyone should be free to speak out at anytime and express their opinions. That right should be safeguarded no matter the degree of participation, no matter what point in the process they form their conclusions; no matter how ill-conceived their opinions; and no matter how contrary their conclusions are to a clear majority of the public.

In all other respects I agree with the positions expressed by the contributors, Paul and Roseanne Frank that the park would have provided new and unique facilities.
