I found great support for the passage of the bond and the construction of the park at East Hills. It came as a surprise that the concept had to be postponed or that it must be refined. My friends, neighbors and even residents whom I met at school and locally were excited over the concept and welcomed the opening of the park. All of us believe that the park, in its full form, would be a big boost to home sales. The modern facilities would have been used by all the families in my area and throughout East Hills would have been used and enjoyed. Why should East Hills sit on the sidelines and watch Great Neck, Sands Point, Garden City and other major communities offer facilities we don't have?

Thanks to Mayor Koblenz who pulled off the deal of the century, we have over 50 acres of property. Let's put the property to good use. No one I know of anywhere in East Hills is opposed to creating a beautiful outdoor park. Let's create that concept and then build on it. Let's begin now and then in a couple of years add to the foundation which we have created.
