Every now and then, opposition parties spring up when local board of trustee elections roll around. This year won't be one of those occasions. The villages of Roslyn, Roslyn Harbor, and Roslyn Estates will all hold elections on March 19. But the incumbents in all three of those villages will not face any declared opponents.

In Roslyn Estates, BOT members Bonnie Weinberg and Jules Kauffman will be running unopposed. In Roslyn Harbor, the incumbent candidates are Benjamin Corin, David Samber, plus Judge David Pfesser. Finally, in Roslyn, BOT members Craig Westergard and Marshall Bernstein are up for re-election, as is longtime Village Justice Nathan Stern.

There are no board of trustee seats up for election this year in the Village of East Hills. Again, all three elections will take place Tuesday, March 19 at the respective village halls. Roslyn's village hall is located at 1200 Old Northern Blvd., Roslyn Estates is at 25 The Tulips, and Roslyn Harbor's meeting place is located at 500 Motts Cove Rd. In the recent past, write-in campaigns have occurred in local elections, at least one coming with some degree of surprise and success.
