As their season entered its final two weeks, the Roslyn High School boys basketball team defeated both Wantagh and New Hyde Park.

In the Jan. 29 away game against Wantagh, the Bulldogs prevailed, 66-59. The game was won at the free throw line, as Roslyn made 12 of 15 such shots in the final quarter. Free throws by Steven Davis and Ronny Koenig played a decisive role in the victory.

On Friday, Feb. 1, the Bulldogs returned home to clobber New Hyde Park, 74-37. Four Roslyn players scored in double figures. They include Raymond Johnson (26 points), Andrew Oliver (13 points), Eric Bratt (12 points) and Ronny Koenig (10 points). This week, the Bulldogs will play an away game at Seaford on Friday, Feb. 8, a home game Monday afternoon, Feb. 11 against Island Trees, and an away game on Wednesday, Feb. 13 in Glen Cove.

In other sports news, the Lady Bulldog varsity bowling squad defeated Sewanhaka, 649-597, 536-551, 695-628 to finish second in Conference II play. Rachel Fields bowled a 215 and a 214 to lead the Lady Bulldogs.
