Also re-elected as officers of the Roslyn Community Party were Andrea Kaufman, president, Marilyn Bernstein, vice president, and Peter Reuter, treasurer.
The meeting was conducted by Mayor John Durkin, aided by Trustees Craig Westergard, Nolan Meyerson, Marta Genovese and Marshall Bernstein.
Reviewing the issues that face the village, the mayor and trustees reported on the need to restructure the village sewerage system, which they noted would be a costly, but an inescapable item of village expense. Mayor Durkin said that the matter of how to finance the sewer reconstruction was under discussion, but that no final decision has yet been made.
During a question-and-answer period, villagers were told that Nassau County's upcoming reassessment of property values would not affect Roslyn village taxes, since village taxes are computed on a different basis. In response to another question the trustees pointed to ongoing discussions with owners of idle land in the downtown area. This land could provide for additional parking.
