Three girls from Roslyn schools, competing for St. Aidan of Williston Park, won medals at the CYO Long Island Track Championships held June 16 at Farmingdale High School.

Emily Lipari from Harbor Hills School led the way with a double Gold Medal performance. She started by running the lead-off leg of the 3rd grade 4 x 100 Meter Relay. Together with Michi Yoshikawa of Center Street School, Allison Sloper from St. Aidan and Brianna Welch from Sea Cliff, set a new CYO Long Island record with a time of 1:07.2 seconds. Emily then blazed to an individual Gold Medal by winning the 3rd grade 60 Meter Dash.

Sisters Brittany and Christina Mockler from East Hills School also won medals at the championships. Brittany ran on a Gold Medal winning 1st grade 4 x 50 meter relay team. She was joined by Natalie Leitman of Cross Street School in Williston Park, Shae Woodward from Northside School in East Williston and Michelle Romano from Searingtown School in Albertson. Big sister Christina then won a Bronze Medal in the 3rd grade 80 Meter dash.

Two weeks later at the Knights of Columbus Nassau-Suffolk Championships held at West Babylon Middle School. Emily Lipari again proved herself as one of the fastest girls on Long Island by adding another Gold Medal to her collection, this time winning the 3rd grade 40 Meter Dash. Allison Sloper won a Silver Medal in the 3rd grade 60 Meter Dash. Emily and Allison also ran in the 4 x 50 meter relay with Sarah Biging and Margaret O'Neil of St. Aidan's School and won a Bronze Medal.
