Cell Tower Moratorium Approved
On Thursday, March 15, the Town of North Hempstead council held a special meeting to vote on a moratorium on the construction of cell towers. The vote in favor of the moratorium was 5-0. The moratorium itself was debated and passed in anticipation of a change in the zoning code. The law being considered will allow cell towers in areas further away from residential areas.

A 32-year resident of the Roslyn area, Jill Studley is now running as a candidate for a seat on the Roslyn School District's Board of Education.

Booster Basketball's Championship Weekend
Week #12 was a combination of Roslyn Booster Hoopster League Championships (fifth and sixth grade girls divisions) and Booster-Hoopster All-Star Weekend and the consensus one-word description for this basketball extravaganza was funtastic. Long-time participants and supporters of the Roslyn Booster Basketball program could not remember a time when the Roslyn community came together to support a weekend activity and enjoyed it as much as they did this program. The fun, and the operative word truly was fun, started Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Roslyn Middle School gym. The gym was packed with in excess of 350 parents, players and guests from all boys and girls booster divisions who waited anxiously for the opening whistle to see these playoff survivors from the girls fifth grade and girls sixth grade booster divisions get it on.
