Durkin Elected Mayor of Roslyn
A new era in Roslyn began last Tuesday night when John Durkin, a longtime board of trustee member, was elected mayor of the village. Mr. Durkin was elected on a Clock Tower Party slate that also included Deputy Mayor Nolan Myerson and Marta Genovese, both of whom were elected to two-year terms on the BOT.

Village Joins Energy Cooperative
With the New York City-area facing what may be a long summer of both high energy demands and costs, one that even may cause some blackouts, the Village of Roslyn board of trustees has elected to join a cooperative dubbed "The Village Energy Group of Nassau County" in order to gain savings on gas and electric bills for local businesses and residents.

Booster Basketball's Championship Weekend
Week #12 was a combination of Roslyn Booster Hoopster League Championships (fifth and sixth grade girls divisions) and Booster-Hoopster All-Star Weekend and the consensus one-word description for this basketball extravaganza was funtastic. Long-time participants and supporters of the Roslyn Booster Basketball program could not remember a time when the Roslyn community came together to support a weekend activity and enjoyed it as much as they did this program. The fun, and the operative word truly was fun, started Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Roslyn Middle School gym. The gym was packed with in excess of 350 parents, players and guests from all boys and girls booster divisions who waited anxiously for the opening whistle to see these playoff survivors from the girls fifth grade and girls sixth grade booster divisions get it on.
