The Roslyn Hilltop Educational Foundation is holding its First Annual 5K (3.1 mile) Run/Walk on April 22. The race course begins at Roslyn High School and travels through the Village of Roslyn and East Hills, and is being professionally started and timed by the Race Management Team. Timing will be done both manually and by computer.
The morning's events will include a Kids' Fun Run to be held before the race. Post-race activities will include raffle drawings and a mini health expo, featuring several wellness professionals. Water, courtesy of Waldbaumn's, will be provided along the course, and fruit, courtesy of Fresh Fields, will be distributed to participants following the race.
Awards will be given for the first three finishers in each age/gender category, as well as a special category for Roslyn School District staff. Each participant will be automatically entered in the raffle drawing, and specially designed event T-shirts and goody bags will be distributed to all registered participants, while supplies last.
Several area businesses have been very generous in their financial support of this fantastic community event. Lead sponsors include: Americana Manhasset; Roslyn Saving Foundation; Robbie Wagner Tournament Training; Musiker Tours and Astoria Federal Savings.
The Hilltop Foundation is a non-profit, independent funding resource for educational programs throughout the Roslyn School District.
