On Thursday, Dec. 21, Roslyn Booster Basketball Girls fourth and fifth grade division players and families were guests at the Hofstra Women's varsity vs. Georgia Tech basketball game played at Hofstra's new indoor arena. Players and parents were treated to an exciting see-saw battle that was decided by two points (76-74) on two foul shots by a Georgia Tech player with less than 30 seconds left in the game. Roslyn booster hoopsters were treated to a firsthand and up close look (they sat in the first row behind the official scorer) at the finer points of Division I women's varsity basketball (i.e. pressing defense, unselfish passing, three-point shooting, boxing out in the key, etc.). Known for their spirit, Roslyn booster hoopsters continuously led the audience wave and cheered non-stop for the Hofstra team. As a special treat, Roslyn booster hoopsters were included on the distribution list for the official scorer updates. To top off the evening the official Hofstra team mascots joined the Roslyn booster hoopsters in the stands in recognition of their vocal antics. Players spent the ride home planning their next pilgrimage to the Hofstra dome.
