I can't imagine the possibility of losing one of the few great cultural treasures on Long Island. In recent years the Nassau County Museum of Art has become a prestigious art and cultural center with an ever-widening and most appreciative audience. As a teacher I have seen the excitement and joy on the faces of children who continually visit this museum. The extraordinary quality of the art exhibits should continue to stimulate the imagination of young and old alike.

The main burden of running the Nassau County Museum of Art is assumed by the board of trustees with private funding. Surely Nassau County should continue to do its part in supporting this museum so that the people of Nassau County can continue to benefit in so many wonderful ways.
