I am writing in regard to an article in a recent edition (November 23) of The Roslyn News concerning the Roslyn Heights Civic Association and its position concerning the Long Island Expressway sound barrier wall. Your article is incorrect. Publishing it without first reviewing it with the current president of the civic association is negligent. After doing so, it would be evident that the overwhelming majority of the Roslyn Heights Civic Association members want the sound barrier wall extended completely through the Roslyn area with no gaps. As a local resident who lives near the LIE, I can assure you that having the wall would be a benefit. Something should be done also about the excessive speeding of motorists on the LIE and its service roads through the Roslyn area. Here, the road is a downgrade in both directions, which causes it to be more subject to excessive speeding.
