Roslyn Little League has announced a new slate of officers and directors for the 2000-2001 season. Dennis Floam has been elected to the post of president of Roslyn Little League. Mr. Floam has been actively involved in Roslyn Little League for the past 10 years and previously held the position of treasurer. A 16-year resident of the community, Mr. Floam, along with his wife Kim and children Allison, Samantha and Scott, reside in Roslyn Estates. Mr. Floam has been actively involved in community affairs, previously serving on the board of trustees of Roslyn Estates and the Bryant Library.
Roslyn Little League has also announced the appointments of Marty Litt as vice president, Julian Grauer as treasurer and Richard Levine as secretary. Mr. Litt was previously secretary of Roslyn Little League and has chaired numerous committees. Mr. Grauer has also served on the executive committee and has been a commissioner of several leagues over the years. Mr. Levine is the commissioner of the boys 6 - 7 year-old league and has also chaired various committees.
In addition to these new officers, Roslyn Little League also announced the election of Scott Canner and Steven Friedman to the executive committee of the board. Six residents also joined the board of directors, including Michael Wolfe, Robert Bernstein, Peter Blauzvern, Jody Efros, Tom Friedman and David Seinfeld.
Participation in Roslyn Little League has grown significantly over the past decade. The league enrolled almost 1,000 boys and girls last spring. The recently organized fall league has nearly 300 children participating in baseball and softball this season.
Roslyn Little League will be holding its spring registration for the 2001 season on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Roslyn Middle School cafeteria.
