Sophomore tennis player Brad Davidoff of Roslyn has been named the Binghamton Athlete of the Week for Oct. 2-9.

Davidoff went 4-1 at the ITA Northeast Regional, narrowly missing a trip to Memphis for the ITA national tournament.

As the fourth seed, he produced three days of standout tennis, steamrolling through the 64-man draw. In the quarterfinals, he bounced a highly-regarded opponent from Bloomsburg 6-0, 6-4. Then in the semifinals, Davidoff dropped the tournament's top seed from Assumption, 7-6, 6-4, winning the first set tie-break, 7-5.

In the championship match, he battled an opponent from Concordia to three sets before falling 6-4, 3-6, 5-7. Davidoff is a graduate of Roslyn High School.
