The first game was a tight one with timely hits and pinpoint pitching. Jason Reis pitching for the Beavers faced only nine batters striking out six. Jason's good defense figured in on two of the other three putouts in the first three innings. Bobby Bott for the Indians was equally stingy, also striking out six Beavers but allowing two runs before he left the game in the fourth inning.

Evan Waldman opened the scoring for the Beavers by manufacturing a run on smart base running stealing second, third and home in the first inning. In the Beavers half of the second Matt Lane got on base and advanced to third on consecutive steals. Jamie Hanfling got an RBI when his single drove in Matt Lane. Matt Silverstein for the Indians displayed amazing defensive skills in right field when he ran down a hard line drive, a certain double by Adam Singer on the right field line. The Beavers led 2-0.

The Indians would not be denied. In the top of the fourth a double by Lee Taglin and a single by Andrew Forest driving in Lee put the Indians on the board. Bobby Bott cleared the bases with a powerful home run to left field that put the Indians ahead 3-2. David Bayer, now pitching for the Beavers was helped out by tight defense when Alex Litt went deep in the hole to get a ground ball by Michael Friedman and make a strong throw to first for the final out of the inning.

In the bottom of the fifth Adam Kapner walked with two outs. Adam scored all the way from first on a double to right center by Josh Weinstein. Score tied at 3.

David Bayer continued to pitch effectively in the sixth not allowing the Indians a base runner. In the bottom of the sixth Jason Reis walked for the Beavers. After Reis stole second David Bayer drove him in with a single up the middle to win the game for the Beavers 4-3.
