Even though they tried to avoid it, the Village of Roslyn's Board of Trustees could not prevent a tax increase in the 2000-2001 budget. The $3.8 million budget will see a 6.83 percent tax increase. Scott Fink, a ninth grader, and No. 1 singles player at Wheatley High School, just placed third in an Eastern Tennis Association Boys 16's Grand Prix Tournament at the National Tennis Center.
