On March 1 we wrote to each resident in the village of Roslyn to request support in the election for village trustees. We stated that the fundamental reason to elect us was to create an environment where all elements of the village are encouraged to work together as a community. The overwhelming support that we received from the electorate in the March 21 elections shows that our message was heard and was very well understood.

We wish to thank the over 400 village residents who supported us at the polls and we pledge to do our utmost as trustees to help assure that village government is conducted on the basis of reason and fairness and, above all, encompasses the simple notion of neighborliness.

We believe also the election results show very clearly that attempts by persons seeking office to exploit divisions within our community are doomed to failure. For this, we should all be proud.
