The Roslyn Rescue Fire Company, which, along with the Roslyn Highlands H&L E&H Co., comprises the Roslyn Fire Companies, installed its newly elected officers today at the 147th Annual Installation Dinner.

Henry Krukowski Jr., of Roslyn Heights, a 31 year veteran of Roslyn Rescue, will serve as president. "The Fire Company has a number of important goals to attain this year," noted Krukowski. "I look forward to working with the municipalities and their various boards to improve communication and most of all to deliver the most efficient service available to the greater Roslyn area." Krukowski was elected president after serving as company treasurer for the last 15 years.

Robert Busby Jr., who served as president in the early to mid 1990s, will serve as vice president, alongside Trustees Russell Liotta Sr., Joseph Stepinowski, Chris Boffa, and John D'Arpino. These men are responsible for the administrative functioning of the fire company, working closely with Michael Kern and Ken Baner, the department's secretary and treasurer, respectively.

"The officers of the fire company have a unique challenge," said Chief Alan Schwalberg, who was sworn in last April. "We are responsible for the management and operation of a large business whose human resources are completely volunteer. I embrace that responsibility every single day and I am confident that my fellow officers do the same."

In a recent address, Chief Schwalberg spoke of Roslyn Rescue's rich history, dating back to 1852, and the countless men who dedicated their lives to making Roslyn Rescue what it is today. Pointing out how progressive the fire service has been in Roslyn, Schwalberg praised the members of Rescue, both past and present, as being leaders. "So when I look toward the future, I am confident that this fire company, those of you who sit before me, will again be there, leading the way, facing the challenges with pride and commitment," he said near the end of his address.

Working closely with Chief Schwalberg will be Fire Assistant Chief Peter Liotta, Second Assistant Chief Tom Langone, Captain Frank Calo and Lieutenants Allen Frye and Stephen Mirman. Newly elected Captain Jon Sendach and Lieutenant Frank Califano will oversee Roslyn Rescue's Emergency Medical Services.
