Are we the only Roslyn residents to notice a pattern developing? First Mayor Galante feuds with Craig Westegard at the Historic District Board. Then there were her accusations made against the Pines Civic Association and its leadership. Who could forget bitterness expressed on both sides of the controversy concerning whether the fire department should march in the Memorial Day parade? Now we have the spectacle of the Roslyn Village Chamber of Commerce suing the village because Mayor Galante "...directed the operator who conducted the fair on behalf of the chamber to pay over to the village the net proceeds realized."

It seems to us that in a small village our elected officials could find a better way to deal with those individuals and organizations that serve and protect our interests than through confrontation, personal attacks and never-ending disputes. How about trying a little compromise, conciliation and cooperation?
