Robin Weiss, 47, of East Hills, died on Aug. 22, 1999. Born in Manhattan, she worked as a waitress to help pay her tuition to Queens College which she graduated from in 1974. She earned her master's degree in social work from Adelphi University. She began a 22-year career working at the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities in Hauppauge where she offered assistance to families who needed help in the care and treatment of their relatives.
