Fees for permits and licenses on both commercial and residential construction in the Village of Roslyn have undergone some changes. The Board of Trustees has approved a local law and "necessary resolutions" setting new fees for the coming fiscal year.
For instance, a fee for cesspool construction will increase from $200 to $250. A Certificate of Occupancy fee will also see a slight increase from $25 to $35.
Proposals to the Historic District Board will now be $25 for one or two family homes and $50 for both other residences and all businesses. In addition, Site Review Board fees will now total $500 for the first 5,000 sq. ft. of property. Fees to the Board of Zoning and Appeals will be $100 for one family homes and $400 for multiple residences.
The landscaping permit is unchanged at $25. Restaurant licenses will increase to $200 from the previous fee of $75. Previously, there have been no fees for construction of a satellite dish. That will now be $50.
Street fair vendor fees have been set at $300, while subdivision fees are now $200, up from $100. In addition, Special Use Permit fees took an increase from $50 to $250. The fee for garage or tag sales is $25. A maximum of two signs is permitted with a fee of $5 per sign.
All applicants to the Board of Trustees for approval of site plans, including single lot developments and all applicants for subdivisions will be required to submit a $1,000 fee for each 2,500 sq. ft.
Concerning multi-housing developments, the fee will now be collected for each housing unit added to the sanitary sewer system. With respect to commercial development, the fee shall be collected for each rentable or separately usable unit.
For plumbers licensed by any town or village in Nassau County doing residential work in Roslyn, will also have to be licensed and/or registered by the Village of Roslyn for a fee of $50 plus bond and insurance. For plumbers working on commercial projects, the cost is $100 for the first $1,000 of construction costs.
The fee to construct a permanent swimming pool will be $50 for the first 1,000 feet of construction costs plus one percent of any costs thereafter. The fee for a pool with plastic construction will also be $50.
Finally, the annual fee for local movie theaters will be $500 per screen or auditorium.
