The 1998-99 high school basketball season is in full swing, and the Roslyn boys varsity squad is off to a strong start, going undefeated in their first four games.

The Bulldogs ran their record to 4-0 last week with a solid 56-45 away win over Jericho. Steven Glasca and Bentley Mays led a rally which extended the Bulldogs slight halftime lead (24-23) and allowed the team to pull away in the game's final two quarters.

The Bulldogs will remain on the road this Thursday, Jan. 28, traveling to Valley Stream South for a 7:45 p.m. contest. On Saturday, Jan. 30, the team will return home to entertain Island Trees in a rare 10 a.m. tipoff time. In February, the Bulldogs will battle teams from Manhasset, Seaford, and Sewanhaka. There will be return engagements with both Manhasset and Island Trees.

The Bulldogs' strong start is the result of a team which has been together for a number of years. Nine of the fourteen varsity squad members are, for instance, seniors. The team has four juniors, including the above mentioned Bentley Mays and one sophomore.
