The Church of the Nativity in East Williston is working on the final touches to prepare Nativity's Little People's Academy to open in January, 1999. Nativity is installing a new drop ceiling, carpeting, fresh paint and decorations to the area planned for the school. Almost the entire congregation is participating in making this school a reality.

The academy is for children ages 3 and 4. The classes for the spring session will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. The class will be taught by a NYS certified teacher with six years' teaching experience. In addition to a paid staff the school will have volunteers from its congregation available to assist with this program. This school is considered a pre-k/nursery school and will prepare its students for kindergarten.

The Church of the Nativity is located at 172 Willis Avenue and is delighted to offer this program to the community. Anyone wishing to enroll their child can contact Karen Visconti, the academy's director at 873-7776.
