Jessica Pierce, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Pierce of Roslyn, is a member of the Hamilton College women's basketball team this season.

After a tough 1997-98 season riddled with injuries, the Lady Continentals take the court this season under a new head coach and with a fresh lineup of players. Hamilton alum Julie Diehl ('93) split the coaching responsibilities with Don Crist in past seasons, but this year she takes on the job by herself. Hamilton's all-time leading scorer (1,451 points) and rebounder (834), Diehl admits that her team is young, but that they are determined to improve last year's 3-21 season.

With only three seniors showing on its roster, the team will focus on quickness and hustle to compensate for lack of experience. Two of these seniors, Liz Sadler and Jen Moran, return this season as captains of the team. Both Sadler and Moran are guards and Moran was the second highest scorer last season.

A junior majoring in art at Hamilton, Pierce is a graduate of Old Westbury School Holy child.
