The Expos defeated the Tigers 17 to 13 to win the Semi-Majors Championship in an exciting Roslyn Little League playoff game at Christopher Morley Park on Tuesday, June 16. The Expos completed an exciting run in the playoffs after finishing the regular season as the seventh seed.

The Tigers, who beat the Red Sox in a semifinal game on June 10, were the home team by virtue of their superior regular season record. The Tigers had a strong pitching rotation with Geoffrey Tane, Michael Friedman and Matthew Friedman. However, the Expos got off to a strong start. They scored six runs on the basis of hits by Andrew Bochner, Brendan Diaz, Dan Furie and Gabe Anesta. They scored another six in the second inning. That inning began with singles by Eric Niederman and Jesse Goldman and was highlighted by run scoring singles by Brandon Reiner, Diaz, Furie and Adrian Bailey. Josh Samuels scored in both innings.

Expos starting pitcher Andrew Bochner, who recorded six strikeouts, held the Tigers to one hit through three innings. Bochner was the winning pitcher in three of the Expos four playoff victories. Matthew Friedman, the Tigers' second pitcher, limited the Expos to two runs in the third and one in the fourth inning and allowed the Tigers to creep back into contention. Michael Friedman hit two big doubles for the Tigers, who scored four runs in the fifth inning and six in the sixth. Expos pitcher Reiner recorded six strikeouts before tiring and yielding to Goldman. Goldman faced the tying run at the plate before inducing him to hit a grounder to Bochner at shortstop who gunned the throw to Diaz at first to record the final out of the game and the season.

The playoffs began for the Expos with an 11 to 9 victory over the Orioles on June 1. On June 6, the Expos beat the Giants 6 to 4. The Expos were stymied by strong pitching by the Giants and trailed four to nothing after three innings. The margin would have been greater if not for strong defensive plays by Jeremy Trilivas and Josh Samuels. Run scoring singles by Paul Susi and Andrew Bochner made the score 4 to 2 after five innings. The comeback was completed by a four run sixth inning culminated by a Brandon Robbins double.

The semifinals took place on June 10. The Expos were matched against the Cubs, the regular season top seed. This was a well played low scoring game for the first few innings and the Expos led 6 to 2 after three innings. Paced by strong hitting by Diaz and Furie, the Expos broke through with a seven run fourth inning. The Cubs battled back to score five runs in the fifth and four runs in the sixth inning. However, pitcher Reiner struck out the final two batters to nail down the game for the Expos, 15-11.
