On Saturday morning two very skilled 6th grade basketball teams met at the Roslyn middle school to challenge one another in a close scoring game. In the end, team #3 prevailed over team #5, 17-16. The stats for the game are as follows:
Team #5 coached by Carolyn Cohen played a most competitive game. Craig Cohen (32) was awesome as forward with an astonishing 12 points. Matt Galeotti (11) played a strong forward and two points. Scott Kaplan (55) center scored two points and played a superb defensive game. Jesse Siegelman (22) played point and shooting guard well. Mike Zelnik (24) played forward and set up picks. Jeremy Sterling (33) played forward and kept team #3 at bay. Vic Picasse (45) played a good game. Team #3 coached by Carol Kimmelman have the following stats. Eric Winder had one rebound and one steal. Andrew Maller had one rebound and one steal. Jake Kimmelman had five free throws, two points, one rebound, and one steal. Jonathan Schwartz had one point and one steal. Omair Hassain played offense well. Jeremy Allen played guard well. David Ettinger had four points and three rebounds. David Burros had three rebounds and one steal.
Both teams played their hearts out in a most physical game. The referees scored fairly for both sides.
