Runners from all over Long Island are invited to be a part of the 2nd Annual Capital One Bank Blazing Trails 4 Autism Four-Mile Run on Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Great Neck South High School Campus on Lakeville Road in Great Neck. The run will start at exactly 9:30 a.m.
The entire net proceeds of the run will be dedicated to the Eden II/Genesis Programs, which provide specialized community-based services and other opportunities to individuals with autism. Race management will be provided by the Greater Long Island Running Club, with Robin Schneider serving as the race director. Timing and scoring will be handled by JMS Racing Services, utilizing the AMB Chip Timing System.
Staged on the roads of the beautiful Lake Success community and the internal roads of the Great Neck South Campus, with an exciting finish on the Great Neck South High School track, runners can enjoy the rolling hills and scenic vistas of this wooded facility on a new and improved four mile course.
Every entrant will receive a special commemorative hooded sweatshirt. Every entrant will also receive the chance to win lots of prizes in one of the biggest post-race raffles on Long Island that will feature a Cannondale CAAD road bicycle valued at more than $1,000.
Awards will be presented to the top open and masters finishers overall, and to the top three male and female finishers in each of 16 age groups from 12 and under through 80 plus, plus Clydesdale Men and Athena Women.
Capital One Bank, headquartered on Route 110 in Melville, has very generously signed on as the primary sponsor of this year’s run.
