This season, the Port Washington BU-12 Torpedoes are 3-0 in league play and have successfully made it through to the third round of the Long Island Cup. They will face the Valley Stream Warriors on Sunday, May 6 where the winner will proceed to the semi-finals of the cup.
Last year, the Torpedoes won back-to-back division titles, in the spring and fall, with a combined record of 17-1. In the two championship seasons, the Torpedoes scored 63 goals while only allowing 18 goals against them, a net positive goal difference of 45 goals. The Torpedoes also won the 2011 Commack Soccer League’s Memorial Day Tournament and came in second in the 2011 North Hempstead Cup.
