The four Port Washington Red Hots lacrosse teams had an amazing indoor winter season. The 4th-, 5th- and 6th-grade teams all won the Sportime indoor championship. This was the second consecutive championship for the 6th-grade travel team. The 7th-grade team also made it to the finals.
All Red Hots teams played tenacious on defense and unselfishly on offense. The lacrosse players and their parents thank the following Red Hots coaches for their time and love of the game:
4th - Pete Smith, Adam Popper and Danielle Commons
5th - Monique Tierney, Chris Avazis
6th - Brian McCormack, Bill Randall
7th - Pete Smith, Chris Avazis
They also thank their support coaches Danielle Rosmarin, Kaitlin Brown, Chrissy Commons and Danielle Commons. The support coaches made practices and games a learning experience and fun at the same.
All teams combined had a 29-3-2 record. The competition included teams from Wantagh, Manhasset, Garden City, Massapequa, Rockville Centre, and Oyster Bay.
Congrats Red Hots!
