Pride in Port weekend was outstanding for our teams and our fans. So impressed with our teams, our spectators were given a great show at the football game. The new scoreboard looked great and having Mikey Megdal’s family there to share in its glory was so wonderful. The football team played their hearts out playing against highly ranked Uniondale. The wonderful thing about football is that week three is coming up fast so come to Schreiber to see the varsity play at home this Saturday against Hicksville at 1:30.
The boys varsity volleyball team played an outstanding tournament at Lindenhurst last weekend. An all-Nassau final pitted Port and Massapequa for the second time in two weekends. Mass got the better of Port in a one game final. More to come from these two teams…
Girls’ varsity tennis is starting off strong with two decisive wins last week over Oceanside and Jericho by identical scores of 6-1. Could it be the new courts bringing the team luck? No, they are just very good this year so check out the team.
Boys and girls’ varsity soccer are holding teams defensively and coming away with big wins. Girls’ varsity defeated Plainview JFK 3-0 in their season opener and the boys varsity won 1-0 over East Meadow.
Girls’ varsity swimming had an outstanding Nassau County Relay Carnival at the Aquatic Center. The team came in fifth of all Nassau schools with many ribbons, best times and a school record…congrats. The team has their home meets at Port Washington Yacht Club.
Check out the new message board on the corner of Campus Drive. The entire home will be on the board for the week. Don’t be a stranger, see you at the games!
