Ryan Brady, Port Washington resident and a graduating senior at Regis High School, Manhattan, has been named a semifinalist in the 2013 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The approximately 550 semifinalists were selected from more than 3,900 candidates on the basis of superior achievements, leadership qualities, personal character and involvement in community and school activities.
Final selection of the Scholars will be made by the Commission on Presidential Scholars and be announced in late May. The Commission will select one male and one female student from each state. Scholars will be invited to Washington, D.C., in June to receive the Scholars medallion at a recognition ceremony and to participate in various activities held in their honor.
