And yet another letter testifying to the goodness of Long Islanders.
Saturday night, our elderly poodle escaped in the confusion of a party. And he either fell in the Baxter Pond or decided to take a swim. He evidently emerged from the pond and collapsed.
Thank you to Arthur who called us, to the nurse who evaluated Skittles’ condition, to John, his wife and son who borrowed towels to keep Skittles warm and drove us back to the house. They may have saved his life.
I am so grateful to these people who didn’t know us or our dog, yet stepped in to be good neighbors. And to whoever gave the towels that helped, please call at 944-9335 so we can return them.
